It will be the eighth 0.25% hike since late 2015:

How does the current tightening cycle compare to the last one(June 2004-June 2006)?  Not even close.

During the 2004-2006 cycle the Fed raised rates 17 times, from 1% to 5.25%.  An increase of 4.25%.

Since the initial hike in December of 2015 the Fed has moved rates from 0.25% to 2.25%, and increase of 2% over a nine month longer time frame.
